| AAC is entrusted with the mandate
of assessment, assurance, and promotion of quality in higher education.
In fulfillment of its role, NAAC seeks to facilitate an enabling environment
for institutions to improve the total quality management. In order to address
the issue of quality, a number of strategies are being adopted training
and development being the most important. With this perspective, NAAC is
initiating the abovesaid workshops in five different regions North (New
Delhi), South (Bangalore), East (Kolkata), West (Mumbai) and North East
(Guwahati). It is expected that these programmes would motivate and induct
more women into senior decision-making positions in the higher education
arena. The workshops cover various aspects of administration through simulation,
practice sessions. The target group would essentially consist of Departmental
Heads, Registrars, Directors of Academic Staff Colleges, College Development
Councils, College Principals, and selected Secretaries of Higher Education
Departments and senior academic staff aspiring for management positions
